www.domain.com vs. just domain.com on Google

In Google Analytics, you can ask the engine to disambiguate and always serve results to your site as either www.domain.com or just domain.com.

I didn't used to forced links to go to one or the other and I think most links in to my sites are probably www.domain.com.

Is there any disadvantage or advantage to using that tool to tell Google to always go to the www version?

I noticed that. Does it make a difference if I tell Google Analytics to regard it as all links with the www or all without?

Yes. If you try to submit both ways, google will send you to the sandbox. Been there, done it. Be careful.
