i stopped using floating trems years ago. too many bells and whistles, and like you said a real fucking pain to restring.

I've played in a band for over 10 years, and been on the road a lot, so know your feeling! But nothing is better than playing on some new fresh strings.

So true. Major pain in the ass but the payoff is worth it! New strings feel and sound great. I am a big fan Elixir coated strings. They cost more but I think they are worth it.

amen. i am anal retentive about how my strings go on. if they're no perfect i rewind, or get a new string altogether.

I bet u can get a guitar guy to come to your house and set up all of them for not that much. Do a cash deal. Also unless your playing out ,it doesnt need to be done that often.

Consider yourself lucky you don't have to restring 5 12 string guitars... I used to travel with 2 of them and restringing was always a 3-5 hour task by the time you get them restrung, tuned and then 'settled in'...

and that right there is exactley the reason i have never bought a 12 string.

i LOVE their sound, and i LOVE playing them. but putting new strings on one of those? forget it.

i am FAR too lazy.
