Pets are great judges of character and to decide if a person is worthwhile, see how well animals respond to them. If they own a pet, take a look at that pet's disposition and you'll have a mirror of the owner's personality.
As far as how much sexual identity has to do with what type of pet you own, I think all of us reasonable folks will admit that it's just hooey!
