Opportunity to buy domain with 3300 OVT score

I have the opportunity to bid on a domain with a 3300 OVT score with the .com added.
It is not being used by the current owner but because he has had several enquiries he has decided to go to 'sealed bids' and I have to make an offer by the end of the month.

I need help valueing this domain as I'd really like to get hold of it but obviously don't want to bid over the odds.

- How does OVT score relate to actual monthly typos?
- What would you bid for it?

well 3300 with the extension is pretty nice, freepussy.com has around those numbers, how much you should pay all depends on what niche it is and how many type-in's it gets daily, but with 3300 overture with the .com its safe to say you can easily bid 20k+.....

Nicky seems high. 3k typeins a month is not that much. 100 a day. So paying 20k for that is way ou of site.

just because the overture search says 3300 in a month the domain can still have several 100 type-in's aday...... if its a 2 word generic domain with 3,3k w ext $20k is not way out of line.....

3300 is not the actual typeins its just the OVT score with the TLD added (its not a .com)

I would assume that if 3300 idiots are fucking-up aand accidentaly typing the url into Yahoo Search or their partner sites then a lot more will be typing it in correctly to their browser destination bar....?

Does anyone know if there is an average multiple for this sum?

My domain that shows 90 in overture with the .com actually gets 800 to 1200 hits per month. I don't have any other domains to compare it to though.

well it looks like you don't want my help...

before you go out of your way to buy this, research the domain. See why it's so popular and if it would be logical that this domain would receive typeins. Don't buy just based on OVT score... make sure there's a reason why it should be popular.

honestly, I am not DomBuyer with a few millions in the bank account....

domains can be a good investment, but not risk free

if I find a domain worth $20k selling for $3k ( and yes, it is possible, it happened before ) I will buy it, but I don't want to be permanently investing in type in domains...

maybe I will try to get some good .eu domains though

Actually I registered the name and could find no evidence it had ever been developed. In any case, it's all type ins.

Could be link pop. Definitely not type-ins however, as if it was you would not be questioning it's coherent value. An adult domain that receives 800-1200 visitors daily is a high caliber domain name. Of which, probably wouldn't be available for reg fee. If it was (it's not, but let's be optimistic) it had to have been registered an eon ago.

You? Don't seem like you were/are in the position to register domains that long ago.
