Shooting down a plane is always the last resort and there are consequences that affect 1000s of people if there were a bio weapon on board. There is no solution that is currently available to prevent such a thing from happening. It boils down to the worse of two evils. IF the plane is shot down and in doing so the bio weapon becomes dispersed is that worse than letting it continue on to Washington DC and dispersing the weapon as was intended by the terrorist on board.Originally posted by painintheass

theses are clearly noted on sectional charts, and now in GPS databases.
looks like a simple mistake of a newbie pilot flying into prohibited airspace.
this is very easy to do if you are sightseeing and not paying attention. all aircraft these days have transponders which spit out the faa registation number of the aircraft, it's speed and direction.
a cessna can only travel 80-120mph, so it is very easy to get stopped, get into his frequency (if he has his radio on) and tell the guy to land.
he will no doubt lose his flying privileges.Comment
