We haven't made a fucking thing in the last 30 years. Our imports outweigh our exports exponentially, and quite frankly, we've fucked ourselves into a corner that we can't bomb our way out of. Hurting others still doesn't make us self-sufficent.

Maybe the government did it so people could invent blogs and expose their insanity, so they might be round up and given a lethal dose of paranoia. That seems more likely and not quite as macabre.
