He had told me that a close friend passed away in a car accident last week and that him and his fiancee went to stay with the guy's wife but that he was back now; and no, he hasn't responded since then.

I doubt he's lying; he seemed professional and knew what he was talking about when I was going through my project with him.

I don't need my project completed ASAP though, so if you did, I can see why it'd be frustrating, though did you send him any money yet or are you just upset from him disappearing?

Yeah he told me the same story last Monday, and I was cool with that. I can understand your friend dying and things going crazy. I told him that and also mentioned a simple message saying hey I wont be around etc would have made a world of difference. He said he understood and agreed a quick message would have really been the right thing to do. But whatever like I said I could understand your friend dying...

Great resume or not this is NOT how you treat clients. I was no real hurry for the project but two weeks for a 2 day job, and disappearing twice in the process is absolutely ridiculous.

indeed i have been dealing with some issues as of recently, some you are aware of some i feel is downright no one's business - however you have every right to react the way you did; we made an agreement to provide you with an application within x ammount of time and you paid me a down payment for it. i did return the down payment (long before this thread was posted) and you gave me another shot to get it completed, you were not comfortable giving me the downpayment and i wouldn;t have even thought of requesting one due to the issue. after another session of me disappearing, i sent you a message stating i was very understanding of your messages to me (i had a few well-deserved offline messages - at least well deserved as far as my professionalism as far as these events have unfolded) and provided you with a link to the demo area of the flash and php code as well as a zip with all the source files (it was not at 100% completion, but alot of work had been put into it and would've needed only a bit more work on it; but i knew i didn't have that time with the circumstances at hand)... i did not and do not expect payment for this, as i know i wronged you - nor do i expect an appology nor understanding from you in regards to the matters... it boils down to you didn't get a product in the time frame stated; and i didn't deliver; regardless of any personal issues i was having i take full blame...

i'm not sure if i sent you the message with the source/files before or after this message was posted; no hard feelings from my side as i understand where you are coming from.

Yes I did get the last message the other day, long after this thread was started. Anyhow while I appreciate your honestly and understanding towards the situation you're right the bottom line is, I was promised two different deadlines, neither was met and I still have no image cropper. The work completed on the link you sent to me was not a finished project and therefore unusable to me. I didn't reply because I don't even know what to say at this point. You seem like a well capable and decent person but you disappeared twice.

If you would have just sent me an update saying hey something came up I got tied up for a few days I'll be in touch, things would have been fine, but no you promised results and then disappeared. It ain't right and I told you this the first time.

I don't know how to end this but If you want to make things right and finish this project send me an icq and let me know when it will be complete. I should be in and out all day today. If not thats cool, we'll just leave it as it is.

Being a programmer myself, and having been around since 1998 in this business I can say that this is pretty crappy. Granted the guy fucked up but he came out, put his dirty laundry on the table and is taking his beating. Thats more than most designers, programmers, content makers do in this fucking business and people keep giving them business.

Most of the time many program owners and tgp operators etc, want to hire a programmer and pay $10 an hr or some ridiculous 3rd world wage. Thankfully I have been around long enough, that this is not me, but I have to say you get what you pay for. If you guys want to pay $10 for a script you are going to get a $10 script. I don't know the payment arrangement for this project but I cannot imagine it was big money.

Many program/site owners will pay some ungodly amount of money for video/picture content but skimp when it comes to programmers. Think about all the things that are automated or coded on your sites, and think about where you would be without programmers.

Again not a ding on pr0 just a general rant that I needed to get off my chest as it always seems when somone gets screwed over by a programmer we are all said to be "unreliable people". Fact is, many of us have more work than we can handle, but cannot turn it down. I am glad to have found all full time gig and don't have to struggle from project to project anymore, but I give full props to all those programmers that still do as it is a tough thing to do in this business and many don't survive because of it. I was one of the lucky ones I guess.

Man, I can't believe what i was reading. This cocksucker - ELLIOTT CARLSON (AKA SEXDWARF) ran the same deposit bullshit on me for having to research my project during our initial phase together. I mean, he has every fucking lie and excuse in the book. A true savage. NOBODY DO BUSINESS WITH ELLIOTT CARLSON (obviously this cockaroach will want to try and do business here)... Well, here goes this story. You'll love it and this all happened up close and personal, so live vicariously through me for this brief moment because I dealt with this maggot in the "PHYSICAL WORLD".

I opened an office in Queens, New York and contract Elliott to work with me. We were supposed to build a Pay Per Minute Video System in Flash. First phase was the CMS, and there would be times where he would be in my office and swore that he sent me the link to the database and I wouldn't receive it and then I'd reach him that friday night and he'd say he emailed it, when he didn't and then would disappear the entire weekend and come into the office with an excuse that he broke his phone or that he sent it and that I didn't receive it. This happened about 3 weeks in a row and throughout the process he would show me half ass work and promise me that he'd have the basic infrastructure in place within the week. Obviously he didn't. Anyway, to make a long story short and to get to the fun part, here's what transpired. He again pulled this I'll email you the stuff shit and didn't and then disappeared for the weekend and he was supposed to call me to come in on a friday and never called, and then never picking up my calls for about 3 days straight. I told him when we started that this was a sensitive project and that he shouldn't be fucking around but obviously he didn't care to heed my advice. Anyway, he comes in on Monday, like nothing and shows me a pinky in a splinter and said that he couldn't do any work that was required to do for the weekend and that he was too out of it to pick up the phone the entire weekend. lol Yeah, that cheesy peoples.... Well, since I don't want to incriminate myself too much here, I basically pushed him out of the office while yelling and insulting his stupid ass, basically throwing that fat fucking bastard on his ass. Then he has nerve to call me and request software that he had on my system (supposedly), so then I go down there and start screaming at him on the street and then make a move to punch his fucking face in and he flinches like a little bitch. The reason is obvious why I didn't hit him, I mean, why get locked up for such a piece of motherfucking trash. So after the flinch, he calls the cops as if to get me arrested and tells them that I do adult, as if to get me into trouble, whereby the cops respond, "where can we get some"... lol He tried to say that I was gonna assault him and that I got some of his shit but they didn't listen to his stupid ass. I lost aboout 1k with this cocksucker but actually made out like a bandit because of the experience. I'm now on my way to developing affiliate systems and NOT doing flash VOD since it sucks really bad for PPM. Anyway, do NOT do business with SEXDWARF. You'll be sorry.
