i remember back in the day when signatures (or "sigs") told everyone who would read your post who you were. today, i see so many people posting here but have absolutely no idea who they are or what they do because they use their sigs to advertise rather than get others acquainted with them.

when i go to a convention, i like cats to see my name tag and say, "hey... your id is opflix on GFY & u own onprobation.com - right?" that's who i am, that's what i do & you know me because of it. what the hell am i supposed to do when i go to a convention & i'm meeting a bunch of sig-whores? who the fuck are you?

aaaah gfy... i guess if you're looking for personality, this isn't the place 2 find it. in this industry because of what we do, we all prefer to remain faceless so normally our sites are our faces. well, that's how it used to be. maybe i'm getting old... maybe the cats that come from the old school just have given up on gfy & realize its worthless getting substance, just harvest a few affiliates. but me, i like personality... i like knowing who i'm dealing with. i like putting a name to a face (or a site at least).

If you are so concerned about being recognized off GFY from your GFY name and website you run, you might wanna try posting a little more being that you've been reg'd here for almost 3 years and dont even have half of 1k posts.

The thing I forgot to point out, is that GFY moves fast and has a shitload of active members. GFY is made up of both idiots, noobs, pro's, and experts. Majority breakdown would be in that exact order. How you are noticed on GFY isnt just about what posts you make, but obviously what you actually do and also who you network with. But just because a handful of people know who you are on GFY, doesnt mean 'GFY' knows you.
