why the $12 fee to get paid by check?

I love all the payment options but some of the fees seem high ..

What are the payment methods?
MoneyCult currently has the following payment options:
Wire transfer - the minimum payment is $130 (45$ fee),
WebMoney - the minimum payment is $130 (2.5% fee),
Capitalcollect - the minimum payment is $130 (3%),
Fethard - the minimum payment is $130 (Commission FREE),
Paper Check - the minimum payment is $130 (12$ fee),
E-Gold - the minimum payment is $130 (2% fee),
ePassporte -the minimum payment is $130 (3% fee),
