I served 12 years in the Army (82nd Airborne)...and my military career was ended from injuries received during the '91 Gulf War...or I would be there...thank you very much.

I was given a medical discharge and have 100% disabled vet status. The only foreigners that I blame for anything are those that make it a habit to attack the US government and its citizens..."foreign trash". If you view that as being a "racist" so be it. I watched the video and I didn't see anything wrong. In a combat zone your job is to kill the enemy. They shot him, and he wasn't dead. You don't stop fighting in a firefight to take POWs. Your job is to kill him, and this is exactly what this Marine did.

As for the Italian who was killed, sorry. Soldiers don't fire on every car that comes up their checkpoint just for kicks. This is not your local police department and this is not Main Street USA. If you come to check point YOU FUCKING SLOW DOWN AND STOP.

I'm pretty sure that I failed to stop at the gate for Luke Air Force base down the road I'D BE SHOT AT TOO.

edit: are we talking about the same incident? the us soldiers who raided a mosque and an iraqi who was shot in the face a few days earlier was lying in bed unarmed.. and the soldier killing him ?

My mother's uncle was a chaplain on Guadacanal during WWII. He came across a wounded Japanese soldier, that was surely going to die. He administered last rites, and tried to comfort him as much as he could under the circumstances.

When he walked out of the cave that this Jap laid mortally wounded, the Jap tossed a grenade out at my uncle. Naturally, he threw it back in, and no more wounded Japanese soldier.

The VC were good at this also during Nam. So - the only good enemy soldier is a dead enemy soldier.
