also, one update a week wont cut it. why the hell have an RSS feed if you only put out one post a week?

Well, we're really kicking ourselves because we envisioned what we are working on long before RSS became a buzzword around here. We use it somewhat for our own stuff but we never took the time to make it exactly how it needs to be made. We've worked on it steady for a little while now but we bumped into a pile of easy traffic and it makes it hard to pull away and work on the other system. Trying to manage both but quick money always screams at me loudest.

Well for Scoreland's it is about 3 updates a day. Thats just how much we give our members. The RSS feed has textual content mostly and is not intended as gallery provider. Im still tweaking it though to allow showing a large pic or video clip as the enclosure (used by news readers and itunes).

All our main sites have an RSS feeds, mostly updating daily. Some updating 3 times a week.

Finally some real brains in an RSS thread. Thank you guys/gals. This is good stuff.

I think the main confusion with RSS and adult programs has been the relationship between the feed and the enduser. Most RSS feeds Ive seen are links to galleries... these are good for affiliates getting the latest galleries if they were updating their sites manually on a daily/weekly basis. Not necessarily good for an affiliate to use for auto-updating feeds, which I believe is what we're referring to here.

So what youre looking for is syndication for blogs and not news updates on the latest galleries... carry on.

i just want some damn good feeds. If you dont know what that is. Then find out and make them! Its all about the bling right?

I'll look into it Jimmer. The php parser Im using works well on our sites and the URL also works well with yahoo, msn, google, and other feed reader services. Id probably have to tweak it to see how it works with WordPress. Thanks for the feedback.

My feed updates once a day, everyday! Pictures every a couple times a week, mostly text. It is about what is going on with me personally and what is new on my site. My members love it so I think your surfers will as well.

It's down the page and there are two options to use.

yes most of them do suck. they're either a large pic and no text, or text and no pic. text and no link, 10 words of text and a link, updates once every random period of every few weeks instead of daily and whatever else.

it only goes to show you have clueless most of the affiliate programs out there really are. but then again most of them are the same way with their sites, shitty sites, bad content, don't update on time regularly, new sites while other good sites just die and they get all their business from whoring up contest threads and partying with gfy people

Digipimp, you mentioned all the negatives of most RSS feeds, but you didnt mention what you would like to see. Many of our latest affiliates are using ours, BUT I dont get much feedback on it. Does this mean we are doing something right? or is it that affiliates just move on to other things?

So what would YOU like to see aside from daily postings?
