If you drive a compact, rent a compact. Dont worry about how much it costs, thats not your problem its thiers. The insurance companies will always argue that you should have rented the cheapest thing the rental place offers. Dont fall for it. You bought a certain level of car to fit your needs and lifestyle, and those needs didnt change because thier clients negligently hit you. Make this point loud and clear when they start bickering with you about this.
