i would contact your insurance company thats what you pay them for they will contact state farm for you and handle all the bullshit your insurance shouldn't go up
they'll base the incident report upon the police report so depending on what hte police reports says will determine the outcome of who's at fault...
in new jersey if your rear ended the person who rear ended you is automatically at fault i'm sure it varies from state to state check with your insurance company
the worst thing you could do is wait to contact your insurance company... they will tell you the exact same thing a few people in this thread have "why haven't you contacted us" your insurance company expects you to make the phone call to them and let them know hey i was in an accident, even though it's not your fault...
thats how your vehicle will be fixed, your insurance company will contact their insurance company file the claim, if they agree with the claim you get payment if not they dispute and your insurance company will take them to court to get your money either way your premium shouldn't go up
