My card does not work at Co-op ATMs you find in convenience stores and they have the logos. I had to use it at ScotiaBank. (Don't think it worked at National Bank, Banque de National, neither which is big in the Montreal area)
If you think about it Varius, make me a list of the banks and locations where you had problems. I've used my Electron card in at least 5 different countries, including several places in Canada, and I've never had a problem with it at all.

Hey KimmyKim....
Well so far, it didn't work at two stand-alone ATM machines (but they did have both visa and plus symbols), one in a bar in downtown Montreal and the other in a grocery store in Laval.
It did work at lunchtime at Scotia Bank here (downtown mtl) though.
I have tested it in Costa Rica in banks, atms and using it as a traditional card at restaurants, and it has always worked though
what ya mean National Bank not big in Montreal??
their head office is based here tse!!
What I said is "big nationwide banks" and the reason I said National Bank (which is not nationwide) is I deal with them here in Ottawa and if I remember correctly I could not use my card there. I might be wrong on National bank, I'm going from memory, though for sure it did not work with most machines in convenience stores.
Look for the "visa electron" symbol. CIBC, Royal, BofM, it works at all of those. We have a machine at a mac's convenience store a block away that it works on. I did notice that it does say "visa electron" on that machine though
