well it's not higher than the emigrant bank 5.25% rate....but HSBC has a 5.05% FDIC insured online savings account - www.hsbcdirect.com

The online savings accounts that are FDIC insured with no minimums are good. They all copied INGDirect, but Citibank has a great deal at no minimum balance and 5% intrerest rate.

If you want no-brand you can go with Amboy Direct at 5.03% with no min.

If you have a big balance, CountryWide has a 5.25% rate on a FDIC insured savings account.

Any other ideas for something that is very secure and high yield besides the obvious places I am looking?

Anyone know of any secured loans I could get?

As an example I am looking for lets say a $400,000 loan secured by $250,000 CD etc.
