I was at Alpine Valley that night. It was very bizarre -- GREAT show. When the show ended we headed out, got in our car and turned on the radio to hear "Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed tonight."

I concur 100% I LOVE his version of Hendrix' "Little Wing"--he gave it more depth, nuance, and an aching existential feel from that rather shallow and 'trendy' original (psychedelia whoop deee whoop). Stevie Ray packs a lot of passion, emotion, and psychic urgency into every chord. His loss is felt daily in the music world. RIP Stevie Ray.Comment

This statement pretty much sums SRV up, his music just had so much passion, so much emotion, and i know everytime i listen to him i still feel his music. Drank coffee cups full of Bourbon & Cocaine to get going in the morning. Drugs almost killed him.
Cleans himself up, still rocks on and plays AWESOME and makes more hits.
Then dies in a helicopter crash.
