Downside.

You could do a contest where people have to come up with the best idea for a GFY contest. If you use their idea, they win a cash prize.

Ask a question once a day at a specific time about your program. Make it so that the question is kinda tough, but so that the answer can be found by looking through your site. Give a prize to the first contestant to answer the question correctly, or to the contestant who answers the most questions correctly.

If you're giving prizes daily, they can be things like cash, PSPs, iPods, LCD screens, etc. If you're going for one large prize, it could be something like a plasma TV or a laptop.

This way, you get the contestants to sign up for your program and familiarize themselves with all aspects of your program, including how it's run, how the stats area works, what features you offer, etc.

Contests have been limited to 7 days in length and a maximum of 100 posts per participant effective tomorrow.

Last man standing/survivor.
1. Daily question/riddle/final score of a game/task that needs to be solved. Answer to be send to a mail. Everyone with the correct answer goes on to the next round.
2. Something for everyone to play in.
3. With the right set up it could generate a lot of attention.
4. Have prizes for the first one to send in the answer that day. The ones still standing the last day have to predict the last 3-4 numbers in the Dow Jones volume closest one wins.

Downside:
Probably will be some idiot answering the question ruining it for everyone. Exposure hard to predict.

The goal and prizes
The point of this contest is to reach 50 or 100 posts in contest thread. If someone reaches 50 posts - he will be paid 50$. If someone reaches 100 postcount in contest thread - he will be paid additional 100$. Other prizes for example, post #666 wins Sony PSP, post #1337 wins an Ipod, post #2005 wins 200 bucks, post #5000 wins Sony PSP and 200$ (this combination is only my proposition..).

The idea
Contest starts with rules and other basic contest info and ends up with a word, item name of anything that can be found in home. For example "an apple". Second person needs to find an apple in home, put it on a table, write his GFY name as well as "DatingGold.com rocks!!" (can be changed) on a piece of paper and make a photo of both, one pic. Pic needs to be resized, uploaded and posted on GFY of course. You need to think about next item which can be found in home and write it under the pic you post. The idea is to be the fastest. If anyone already posted a photo of apple, you don't post it, you're too late. It is possible that some people can post photos at this same time and we have two apples - second one is void and doesn't count to user's postcount.
And here we go, one by one.. these items can be anything, for example washing machine, a fork, computer mouse, tv, EURO cable, toilet paper, metro ticket, bottle of pepsi, milk, simply anything, but needs to be popular thing that can be found in most houses.

The rules
- You can't post a posts without a photos.
- You can't post a posts without a photos made by yourself. If you do, you are no longer taking part in this contest.
- If you already reached 50 or 100 postcount, you won and you are out.
- If for any reasons on special winning spots (#666, $1337..) the post is not regular, prize is taken by following regular one.
- If for any reasons there are "2 posts of apples" and 2 different "next things to photo", the first one is the correct one.
- the "next things to photo" can recur, but all photos must be different.
- for any type of cheating, you're out of contest and you win nothing.
- Contest ends after 10 days or after #5000 post is reached.

Alright, I've been thinking of this for awhile previously to this question being asked and have came up with several good ideas.


What these contests all come down to is exposure for the affiliate program it represents, with Dating Gold in mind I bring to you a contest:


- we want to achieve maximum exposure and new affiliate sending traffic towards DatingGold.com ( new rules state that contests will be 10 days in length ) so for 10 days we want to remain high on the first page of GFY and with Sigs of contestants being aimed towards DatingGold.com
and lets do this with an advertising budget of no more than $10,000 and with a solid long term ROI to DatingGold of at least 200%


-we want people to have fun and make cash. Whats fun ? making cash ! so lets do that at the same time !



Variables of the contest:

at least 1 prize per page (50 posts) this retains interest and keeps the contest flowing at a pace to ensure maximum affiliates and/or page views

multiples of 50 wins 10$ multiples of 100 wins 25$ intervals of 250 wins 50$ and intervals of 1000 wins 100$

posts 50, 150, 350,450....... and so on wins 10$
posts 100,200,300,400......... and so on wins 25$
posts 250,500,750,1250........ and so on wins 50$

How about building on this:

Lets you win post number 100, then you double your winnings if you get 115 also.

If not, the next prize grows. etc. webmasters will be working against the winner to keep them from getting the 115 spot.


That helps keep the contest when most die right after a winning post.
