    One Time Announcement : $5 Gallery Templates - Help Me Pay My Rent!

    Ok, I've been poking around here for 4 years, figure I'd go ahead and use my one time announcement.

    Times are tough! April's been a rough month here. Rent's coming up in 2 days.

    I'm selling $5 custom gallery templates...right now, there are 3 variations...there will be more added in the next couple of days. You can choose any base color you want, and you get 1 custom graphic title, 1 custom line of graphic text and 1 piece of custom blinking text with each gallery you order.

                              Wrong. I've been in this business for 8 years. And online porn isn't the only thing I do. I'm in a band that tours the US all the time, it can be quite taxing on the bank account.

                                          Actually, it seems to work the cheaper you are, the fewer orders you'll get. I assumed that they'd suck when I saw the $5 special, and I looked, and they aren't exactly going to pull sales.. Most designers I know are booked solid charging a lot more then $5....

                                          Not a shot, just an observation. Good luck making rent.

                                              Yeah, when I get some more time, I'm gonna make an actual nice portfolio page with some nicer galleries. That page was just thrown together, but I actually worked a good amount on the galleries. Sure, they're plain and simple, but plain and simple can sell just as good as the best graphic heavy galleries out there.

                                                                              $5 galleries, i'm assuming your rent is at least 300-400 if you're living with a roommate, $800-900 if you're living on your own in a small apt in a small town...
                                                                              1000+ in any metro area for a 1 room, so how many gallery orders do you need to fill before you can make rent?

                                                                              Why not just up your quality, get $20/25 per gallery and do less work?

                                                                                  Not enough time is really the only reason. I'm quite capable of making galleries that are way better than these, however I don't have the time at the moment to put them together. I still believe that these are great galleries and worth it for $5 a pop.

                                                                                  Within the next few weeks I plan on getting a real portfolio up with some better templates, including full tgp sites and free sites.

                                                                                                                                                      Also, I don't have a credit card, don't you need one for an epassporte account? I do have a visa checkcard, so maybe that will work.
