                                                      The forefathers did NOT trust the masses to make informed decisions and thus that function was delegated to to "representatives"...

                                                      As a group, Joe Six Packs and Security Moms are too busy voting on the various reality TV shows ... they can't be trusted to deal with real issues that matter ... and many don't want to anyways - they prefer to live their life with minimal thinking/effort and thus welcome other folks to make the tough decisions.
