Yes I agree, the main historical theories contained in this book aren't really that suprising or shocking to anyone who has done any modestly serious research on the history of Christianity or Pagan belifes and there are a lot of factual based books out there that cover the subject much better.

However, the phenominal success of this book has helped fuel interest in uncovering the truth behind centuries of propogander and misinformation which IMHO is no bad thing
