This would be true only if one worker was responsible for one pound every 4 hours or so.Originally posted by pornguyOnce all the Mexicans are deported ( Or Exploded Pending Jims Patent ) who will pick the vegetables? And how much will they cost per pound.
Because I dont know a single american, regardless of skin color, that will do it for less than mininum wage, with lunch break, and smoking breaks, and coffee breaks. Also they will want health insurance.
So I am seeing tomatoes at about 40$ per pound.
Hey Maybe we can get an unemployes Jew to do it. Nahhh they will just make the farmer feel badComment

A copy for the second pageOriginally posted by Revshare-OmarThe solution that I have been able to cnger in my own mind is broken dwn in 2parts, and I am latin, but I'm being very bias here!!
1:The problem with not paying taxes whitch is one of the biggest concerns with the American pulblic.
problem:If you are a iellgal immagrant, and you are current working in this country and you are paying taxes the money obviously is going back to their original countries.
Solution: When anyone goes to a western union or financial institution to send money the should be asked for citizenship, if know can be provided automatic 50% tax on the money bieng handled. Money would be taxed to the financial intituation.
If money is physicllay bieng taken over borders, they are caught 75% tax on the amount found taxed by the federal intitution that catches them.
2: Most Americans have a problem with illegals using up federal funding (medicare, social security, welfare etc.....) Here is what I propose.
A: Cut it all out for every one that can't prove citzen or legal residency in this country. Now like the majority of the population in the U.S. We as a people don't have a problem helping someone out if there is something to show for it. So with all these women that are having kids left and right when it comes time to collect these resources.
1 if they are working they need to show payment of taxes.
2 If they are not working then they need provide their kids reports cards if the kids aren't mainting at least a B average. They recieve NOTHING as the parents of these people are aloowing a generation of dumb asses, and if your like me I say FUCK THAT!!
Though these two problem solvers could be tweaked a bit in theory I believe they can work. It accomplishes a few thing
1st it shows that the U.S. will not tolerate someone not trying to pay up when the rest of the population is FORCED to.
2 It show's we will help you if you help your self, and your children! If you don't you don't get shit and you can go

One of the problems that you guys face, is not knowing the difference between the mexicans that are crossing is simply this. The ones that you speak of as hard working, are usually from the middle or southern regions of Mexico. They are NOT NORMALLY from the border states of Mexico.
They have had nothing all their lives, but have heard that a hard worker in the US can make good money. So they cross.
The people that live in the border states, have jobs in mexico, they just dont want them, and dont want to work,PornGuy skype me pornguy_epic

Trade is good.Originally posted by SexsitesurferYou'll have to buy imported fruit and veg and the economy may slump as domestic produce fails to be priced competitively at home and abroad....
But seriously if you have to pay a worker who picks 200 apples an hour $5 more thats $0.025 an apple. I think we can swing it.
Additionally if the illegal worker subsidy handed out to farmers was removed they would start looking toward technology to lower costs. That's good for equipment companies like John Deer who aren't able to compete with sub minimum wage salary work forces.Comment

I lived down the street from a guy who owned 300k acres of farming property. He gre 200 acres of watermelon, and hired mexicans to pick it. They paid them 3 cents per pound. They were then able to sell the watermelon to the stores for 14 cents per pound. giving him an 11 cent profit. Once he paid for the diesel fuel for the water sprinklers, and then fencing that had to be installed, and the gas for the bus that moved the watermelon, and the bug sprays over the season, he had a clear 2.24 cent profit per pound. Now tell me how he will make it paying them 5$ per hour, especially whent he US government is planning to raise that to 7.50$ per hour,.PornGuy skype me pornguy_epic

Walk down any street, pick up any newspaper, there are jobs. Walk through rio plaza and you will see at least 10 signs looking for workers. I know that they dont make the money they would on the other side, but money is money.
The sad thing is, that we have hired 4 people to work for us. Paying US salary, and the first two did one days work, and never returned, and the other two were unable to show up on time on the first day.PornGuy skype me pornguy_epic

Ok so let's take 6 pounds a watermelon. I have no idea how many can be picked but I'll take a guess at 25 an hour.Originally posted by pornguyNot really sure, but each water mellon I would guess weighs about 4 to 8 pounds
So 25 watermelons at 6 pounds is 150 total pounds. At $0.03 a pound that's $4.50 for the hour.
If he has to be paid $5.50 an hour that's an extra $1 in cost for every 25 watermelons. Making the cost of each watermelon $0.04 more (assuming they all weigh the same).
He can eat the cost or pass it on to the consumer. If he can't do it then he should change crops and grow something profitable. That's how economies work.Last edited by Penthouse Tony; 08-24-2006, 09:20 AM.Comment
