dot com's are king but what comes next?

This is quoted from a domain name appraisal I had done.

"Extension Value - this category refers to the .COM part of your domain name. Currently .COM names still command the highest values followed by .NET, some national domains and .ORG's."

thanks. I was intresed in a URL but the .com was already taken. I have just bought the .net and .info of that name.

Whenever a .com is taking, I would buy the .net domain or the .tv and that's it.

If you get a domain other than .com, you might have to try extra hard to get people to remember to go to your " .net " version of the domain.

That's if you want them to remember it and type it in somehow in the future.

Links are great if you can get them to come that way.
.com or .net may not matter that much in linkdom....

I coded an escort blog community type site for an escort, and we emphasised the .net part big time, in the design, the banners, everything..... especially since the .com version really had very similar type postings to what was found on common escort world message boards......

The .net site (hers) really tries to get actual bloggers to actually blog LOL

and it seems to be working ok so far.....
www.EscortBlogs.net is her site.....


I even type in .com sometimes by mistake when I look in to see how she's doing.... and I should know better LOL

well the site is going to be used for adsense income (non adult). I'm hoping for mostly search engine and forum traffic i.e. free traffic.
The URL is keyword rich but the .com was already taken.

I have a "bookmark us" link on all pages so that helps.
