I don't think that will happen, but eventually because of the plate movements LA will be next to San Francisco one day. And there will be some big ass quakes on its way there.

The worst thing would be a major mid pacific quake that sends a Tsunami into LA like the Indonesian quake did. That would be right out of the movies and that is a real possibility.

Or if a meteor strike hit the pacific ocean you'd have quite a bit of water going into Cali.
