Had a guy pay $7110 (my 20% take was $1422.12) and then streamray switched over to AFF backend and I lost my ability to track him. Tracking whales... those we're the good ole' days.

Yes with most programs you don't have a clue who's spending what or even if it's a new purchase or repeat purchase. You can track with WebcamCash, AWE, BigCashCrew sites.. are there more?

It's a bitter sweet.. Sometimes I feel sorry for the guy spending that much cash..Because I always feel its going to be a charge back.
At the same token I am like why can't he just send me 7k and I will send him the cam girl for a day lol

I don't know about the actual customers, but I have two friends that do 100s of legit sales a day (not counting just free joins)...to dating & cam sites...
One of them years ago made me about 4-5k a month from referal sales alone.
Why haven't I started my own cam/dating program!? Good fuggin question lol...

Sorry for bumping an oldish thread but it looks like I may have just picked up a whale with camcontacts.com.
He's spent $4000 on cams in the last week. I'm a bit worried that its not legit and will result in chargebacks.
Are there really guys out there who would spend that much on cams?? You'd think if they were rich enough to spend that much they would be able to get the real thing at the drop of a hat.

webcam surfers are an amazing bunch.. and alot of them are well aware that all it takes is a phone call to refund every cent.
in other words.. dont bank on that cash untill youve had the check in your hands for 6 months

It sure would be nice if this whale was legit and stuck around for awhile but yeah I'm definitely going to be careful and will be putting my cut aside for awhile.

they can probably afford to do both.

you are assuming its a legit charge to begin with. most people processing for cams have a daily spend limit for users. a good number is usually around 100.00 until they have been members for a period of time (usually over 60 days) or unless they take other steps like fax in a credit card authorization form and copy of ID.
trust me when i say most high charges are fraud (a lot of money spent really fast). i mean its not unusual for an user to spend 500 a month. but a 1000.00 in a day or two or three = stolen card. a bigger program might decide to not have limits and just eat it. for chargeback ratios it doesn't matter since its about the number of transactions, not dollar value.
you have 10,000 girls online from russia, ukraine, romania and the worlds most shitholes working for a % of sales... often its the boyfriends using stolen cards to chat with their girlfriends so they get that money.

I have one on a site for 2 years, about 5 months now and still going. Though he's really cut back on his time on the site, he still brings in some cash each month.
Last month had a drive-buy who, if I recall, dropped about $1500 in one day. Of course, he disappeared after that and I'm praying it doesn't end up as a charge-back .. should know in a few days once the CC bill comes in.
When I think of possible whales I picture Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) sitting at his desk with a giant monitor naked. Typing furiously all the nastiest shit he can think of.
Or some really fat ugly dude who is a real nice guy, push over type.
Any good webcam site should have proper fraud controls (Both automatic and manual) implemented to decrease the chance of refunds and to allow higher spending per person initially so they don't have to limit to something small like $100 per day. This just hurts the affiliates

ok... rather than getting into an argument which is constructed to imply that no one does what they are actually doing.. let me ask you some simple questions
--- your webmaster stats say nothing of refunds and chargebacks
so... what do YOU do?
are you paying commissions on each and every sale that happens and its immediately reported in the stats? are you are even paying commissions on those guys that get through the system and start spending crazy money or start showing a pattern of behavior that indicates fraud?
if some romanian kid starts spending 1000.00 a day to chat with his girlfriend, make money and keep users from chatting with her, do i still get paid on all sales made up to the point that you caught him? do i get commissions on all subsequent times he gets back in with new IP's/Cards/usernames/passwords/e-mails?
the fact is that you don't have a perfect way to catch all fraud BEFORE the transaction(s) happen. there isn't one. thats why you have to manually review everything, read chat logs and employ a wide range of tactics to flag suspicious behavior.
if it was possible to stop fraud before it happened, people wouldn't call someone like epoch and say "hi, i want to start a cam site" and be promptly told to fuck off.
if you can't stop fraud before it happens... then you are telling us that you either pay commissions on fraud or you silently balance it all out on the back end before reporting to affiliates.
