99% of check sign up's to my sites bounce ... If you have options for 3 and 6 months memberships... That's what the surfer will go for. I was on ICQ to one of the processors about this the other day, as we know why and how this happens. There is a trick savvy surfers know and use to get a few days free access to a site but hopefully this will be plugged in the near future.
It may mean that surfers will have to wait for the check to clear before receiving their log in details, but for the number of surfers who currently use this method, a loss of new sign up's due to this will be better than seeing a check bounce...Comment

It's just part of the biz. Just don't make the same mistake I did by not leaving a buffer in the bank to cover bounced checks. I'm one who always keeps my money locked tight at home and I got a check from a sponsor that bounced (was a banking error on the bank's part) and my account got frozen until I could pay the bank the money. All the money I had left was in check form, thus I couldn't cash the checks to cover it. What a mess it was.Comment

I had an idea how the fraud could be stopped. You set up a voice mail system that can only be accessed if the caller doesnt have their caller id hidden. The person has to call the number and they listen to the message which gives them a code that they enter into password style box on the page before it lets them go through to the check page.
This would scare 90% of the surfers who are going to commit fraud off.
