Update on gun control in Australia

The murder rate in NSW (australia's biggest state and 1/3 of the total population) has fallen to its lowest rate in more than 20 years.

It's for a lot of reasons not just guns.. but it's still another nail in the coffin for the bogus NRA propaganda about Australia.

yep. We have a decent welfare system though, more like Canada I guess. Our assault levels are boosted mainly in the Northern Territory with the alcohol and race issues.

Yup plus all those redneck mofo's up north complaining because we took away all there semi automatic weapons, and now they have nothing to defend our country with, against the foreign invaders.

Now that one is a definite piece of misinformation. I know a lot of history books will tell you that all Tasmanian aborigines were wiped out but that is not the case.

I lived in Hobart where there was quite a large Aboriginal community with title to a large area of land at Risdon Cove on the banks of the Derwent within the Hobart metropolitan area.

I haven't got a clue whether the Tasmanian aboriginals are full blood or only part - it doesn't matter much because the community, the laws and the government recognise them as aboriginal and that's all that really matters.

if there were more guns owned by the bosnian's then maybe they could have defended themselves against the serbs more effectively and we could have let our military stay at home...

personally I like to have the option to PROTECT MYSELF and family...waiting for the gov to do it, or local police is just not rational...do you wait until the gov wants to feed you to eat? should the gov start telling you where to live? what about clothing, they should do that for you too? all basic human rights imo...food, clothing, shelter, protection
