Need a dedicated server - Best place to get one?

http://www.layeredtech.com/servers.php is what I'm looking at. I want a dual xeon ~3ghz, 2gb ram, ~1500gb+ bandwidth, 100mbps port... that's about it.

If you've used Layered Tech before, let me know how they did for you. If you know of other good places where you've gotten dedicated servers before, let me know those as well.

I heard good things about http://www.theplanet.com too? Can anyone confirm that?

ktj4l: make sure you understand that LT is 100% unmanaged and they will not do anything other than reboot the box for you or replace hardware if it fails.

I'm aware of this. I have someone to manage the server for me so that shouldn't be an issue. I have a box thru them right now. Its just ThePlanet bandwidth resold.
I thought i read somewhere that they were not selling TP bandwidth anymore.

I now have an actual ThePlanet box. It seems to be working out good and their support system is kicking ass. It came with 40 gig of offsite storage and alot of extras. Orbit seems to be pretty usefull aswell.

PS i forgot to mention that i just canceled the Layered Tech box.
I have not liked their support. It seems that they take their time responding to emails \ questions.

Also, when i first got the box i complained about my box needing to be rebooted every 10 mins (Linux box).

they thought it was something i had done. So i asked for a reimage and they were going to charge me. Long story short they didnt charge me for a reimage and it turned out to be bad RAM. Bad RAM! pfft =(

The only problem is the bad support, unless you pay extra for it.

I have to tell you, i have the ~250 dollar plan they offer and support has been great. I have called and talked on the phone. Used Orbit (their support portal) and everything seems to work great.
I had problems with the install of a few scripts and they took care of it right away and told me what the problem was.

I have had no complaints.
