    Do you know HI5 ?

    I see A LOT of myspace talk around here, I was wondering if you know hi5.com ?
    It's the largest social networking site in Portugal, everyone under 25 is there! But since it's an american site I would like to know if it's big in the US too, or is it some strange coincidence that it got so big in Portugal.

          I wonder how they got to be THE social network site in Portugal, they dont even have a PT version of the site, and no advertising. Just the viral invites.

                      I've heard of hi5. Pretty popular here but myspace wins by a landslide. It all depends on the demographic of the users. Take Google's Orkut for example. They are non existant here but HUGE in Brazil. Or UK's bebo.com. HUGE over there but not popular here.

                          What's amazes me is that orkut was not made with brazilians in mind, nor HI5 was designed for portuguese. But somehow it spread like wildfire, I deleted 50 invitations before I gave up and joined the site too. Everyone I know has a profile, it's like having a mail address. And I bet the guys who did it didnt even know where Portugal is.

                                  I get about 5 invites a week from hi5....I signed up but the site was slow and none of my "messages" would ever load, so I just delete the mail now.
