is music getting more shitty everyday or..

am i just gettin to old for it??

theres songs that repeat the same shitty chorus 50 times in row, songs that make no sense at all, the beats suck, im tired of listening to rap songs on the radio that sing about bitches & ho's and their rims spinnin...

it cant be me gettin old, im only 24 lol

PS why is "50 cent" in every song on the radio and in every video on mtv now??

15 year old white kids dig hardened ex criminals who've been shot 55 times in the head and walked away (slight exaggeration). Don't ask me what the fascination is, because I'm really not sure. Oh and ever since the "g-unit" thing came about, every kid on my street is now in some type of "unit".

I think you have to take the Rap music for what it is ... just entertainment ... i do see a lot of kids that grow up in the burbs wanting to act like they live in the hood and there poor ... not sure why ..every rapper is trying to get out of the hood ... I listen to Tool/RAGE/NIN all the good stuff ... but i also listen to 50/the game/eminem/snoop and Dre ... i think it helps if you you live in NY or LA and see the stuff that they sing about ... for me i had a mentality like that at one point in my life so i understand that feeling of if you want it take it and anyone that gets in your way hurt bad so the next guy just gives it to ya ... and it didn't get me to far ... but i understand the street thing and can enjoy what there doing .... it is creative ..not really in the same way music was 10 years ago ..but they can come up with some funny ways to say things ...

example:
ME: "I carry a gun" ...

Rapper:" I pack Heat Like an oven door" I think thats funny and enjoy it ..

example 2:

Me: "I'll shoot you in the head with my 9mm"

Rapper: "when the times right I'm put this 9 right to the left side ya head and push you mind right" see what i mean?

i love sexual songs, dont get wrong LOL Hell, Lil Kim is one of my favorite rappers mostly cuz she talks about women doin the same shit as men (being a player, using men for sex, etc)

I just think that in the past year, shitty music has been accepted more and more....oh, and guess what..

BACKSTREET BOYS ARE COMING BACK........ that right there should show you what direction todays music is going in lol

ya ..i see what your saying for sure ... shit like the back street boys i really don't understand ... and even some of the down south crunk music throws me for a loop ... but i guess if i was from the south i would understand the appeal .. most of the time in these threads it just a bunch of old timers knocking the rap game as a whole .... but i see that in your case you understand the difference between what is done with a creative twist and what is just produced to sell records ...that's why have the time a second LP from just about anyone isn't as good as the first that got them famous .... The label pushes for the more commercial shit to feed on the name .... it sucks but it's just the way it is ...more kids have money and buy music ..so they'll sell them what they want ...
