    Usenet & Kiddie pr0n

Can anyone explain to me how large usenet services like easynews can have groups listed that contain hundreds of thousands of images and clips of russian CP? I remember about two years ago, when one large group was shut down... but more and more are emerging.

Maybe it's because of the distributed nature of Usenet. Unlike a website, it is not 'centralized.' I share your concern, Vlad. It is very disturbing.

Not if their owners or servers are not hosted/located in the US

Fuck that sucks about easynews having CP newsgroups, I use easynews all the time. Thankfully I've never seen any of that filth in any of the newsgroups I surf

Can easynews not remove some of the content in certain newsgroups ? Or is their service just similar to guba, they only supply servers for faster downloads ?

They do have a 'report bad content' feature inside of Easynews, but i doubt anyone uses it... as the newsgroups are just packed w/ some of that shit.

I stopped using newsgroups in about 1997 because it was too hard to not see KP. Used to love them before that.

I've never encountered it on easynews. I just stick to the main newsgroups, all non porn

I was never even in bianary groups. Just boring political ones, etc back in about 93 to 95 mostly. The places started to get flooded by child porn in cross posts that had nothing to do with the groups.

not centralized but they have their own feed... They could grep the feeds that's all.
