What's your opinion on revshare with trials?

Do they work? I had sales success by converting $4.95 3 day trials into one month subscriptions to www.exploitedcollegegirls.com , however alot of affiliates seem to really dislike the idea. Opinions please

I saw the same amount of people buying without trials as with trials, the only difference is that some of the people that bought trials usually cancelled before the trials were up

I personally think you lose money by prromoting trials

I personally don't like it. I'd prefer to send to a site that didn't have a trial at all. I guess I just think that there are people who will join for the 3 days, get all the content they can, then book. I'd rather push them toward a higher monthly fee.

I'll also add that I think trials put the onus on the site owner and less on the affiliate. I pride myself in prepping my traffic for sites and selling it before they even come through the door. With a trial, I have to rely on the site to have good content and a good members area to make money.

Basically I think trials are good for those who aren't putting much effort into the traffic they send. For those that do, I don't think it's good at all.

Every revshare sponsor should offer both trial and non-trial tours. This way the affiliates can decide what they want to use.

That would probably be best - if affiliates get to choose what they can push, then the affiliate and surfer are happy.

There is another option and I will be launching it in a few months, so watch this space.

The only thing I'm not sure on is whether to have an affiliate program for it or to drive my own traffic. Will definitely start with my own traffic.

Depends on the members area of the site. But in saying that I'd never push a revshare site with a trial that was less then $9.95 for 3 days recuring to say $29.97 for 1month.

I have pushed a few micro niche (milf) paysites with a trial option (as above) and on tgp traffic the rebills from trial to full where quite interesting. But as I said a pox ass members area with no content and more shiny upsells then piccadilly circus, I would never touch.

I think a lot of people have focussed on what the affiliate needs and ignored what the surfer needs, and we are left with conversions ratios that frankly SUCK.

By concentrating on what the surfer needs I'm trying to balance it out.

Trials with revshare = Waste of traffic for those webmasters who filter traffic right, your losing at least 30% potential income straight away

Choice is very important for the surfer when it comes to billing options, I've heard many paysite owners say that at least 30% of their customers ONLY select the non recurring billing option when they first signup to the site

Without this billing option your leaving money on the table

Same here. The only trials I've done have been staggered to punish those who sign up and cancel quickly. So they get billed more for the first month, and less subsequent. It promotes rebills, and retention.

You still have a lot of people who do the same shit. But atleast you make more money off of them.

I am not spending thousands of dollars a month just to give years of it away for $2.95 and hope they sign up. But that's just me. I know some other primaries think the same, but as well others just grab the money any which way they can get it.

                                All different strokes.

I'm losing faith in revshare trials.. I just did a 2 month overview on a sponsor, and out of 70 joins, I had 8 rebills... And it was with a site that has a HUGE network and plenty of content for the surfers to enjoy.
