    My Godaddy Acct. Was Hijacked

Seems as if *****@cumvids.net got into my godaddy account, changed the password and the email contact... How can he possible change the contact info on the GoDaddy acct without a government ID? Anybody know this guy?

I just talked on the phone to their support team and they made 0 sense... He needed a 4 digit paypal pin. I have no record of a 4 digit pin ANYWHERE and why would he need a Paypal pin?

My question is: How can a guy can change my info knowing info that I don't even know. Also, how is he forging a govenment ID of mine when he is in Russia? SHould I fear identity theft?

I have 80+ domains in there and I don't know what to do. They fastest they can give my account back is 3 days with this form.

I always have the same problem with my PayPal for verification. When creating the account you gave a 4 digit phone code that you can also give them for verification. You can also use the last 4 digits of any credit card you've used. Once you get past the account verification they can point you in the right direction. Without verifying your identity I don't know what they can do. Sorry

Why would he need gov ID??? Log in ANY account on the internet, go to "change personal settings" and thats it! Domain hijacking accounts are not that common, but happens a lot.

I've thought about making a different account for each domain. So if one account is broken into, they won't have every domain.

Dude, you don't need that. Im in my godaddy account right now. All I have to do is click on a domain, and change whatever name or information I want and save. If I were to change registrar or account, I would unlock it, change the info to the person who will get it, and that it. The other one will initiate a transfer. If the infos match, the registrar will accept the transfer.
You really think ppl who buy and sell domain everyday send photo ID to registrars everytime??

that's good news. here's why. godaddy has a strange policy that few people know about, yet the few that do know it... COMPLAIN about it: If any change is made to the WHOIS record, in terms of contacts/ownership, not nameservers, THAT domain CAN NOT be transferred out of goddady for 60 days. they put that policy in place to help with the hijacking problems... yes it is a strange policy that does not offer "preventive" measures, but it saves your ass when you need it. most complainers don't like the fact that they can't transfer out to a buyer if a recent change has been made, godaddy's solution is a simple push. all the hijacker can do at this stage, if what you say is correct, is to push the name into another godaddy account (traceable and easily recovered) vs transferring it out to another registrar which is what most hijackers NEED to do immediately. so, tho you still have problems, at least you have a great chance to get your account and all domains back. personally imo, someone may have installed a keylogger on your pc, or ???

email me asap, and I will give you contact info for my handler at GD and you can call him tomorrow and hopefully he can remedy the situation or hand you over to the right person in security.

                                              email in sig.

                                              good luck.

                                              .

                                                Taboo... Thanks for the reply!

Everything is back to normal, but what a fucking hassle. I was wondering how he got my info as well, since the login info wasn't anything simp-le. I've run multiple scans, have a keylogger scan running on my Spysweeper, a firewall and I scan for viruses daily via Spysweeper and Norton.

Oh wel... Lesson learned and I have access to a personal acct rep now when I need one.

                                                Cheers!

Hey Sherm, for sure your computer is Keylogged. Dont go to anymore sensitive sites until you clear it up. Alot of these keyloggers self install without you even knowing and email your logged stuff to an email address.
