India's President has mostly ceremonial duties. The real power lies in the hands of the Prime Minister (Mr. Singh). Regardless, India's economy has been doing really well. The rest of the developing world (*cough* Philippines*cough*) would do well to copy the reforms that improved the Chinese and Indian economies.
