I'm looking forward to the legal process on this one.
What does happen when a new bill amends a law with enjoined components, and the currently enjoined components are being amended? Any lawyers care to take a crack at that?
It's gotta be one of:
1) the old law is amended, and the enjoined portions remain enjoined
2) the amended law completely supercedes the original, and the enjoined portions are.. umm.. disenjoined? Is that a word? (see #3).
3) The entire process ends up tied up in court for years.
4) The original judge finds the new amendments invalid on technical reasons - see #3.
5) Well before it's all decided, Bush leaves the white house, a liberal dem is elected, and none of this really matters any more.
