corrrect, the operating cost is whats most important. I am in the market for a twin engine and was looking at the diamond twinstar and piper senneca. On paper the twinstar looks like a great deal because of its fuel efficiency but than you discover what is required to maintain them. A 100 hour inspection on a twinstar can be as much as 8k and if you need parts good luck. Whereas a senneca has proven reliability and airframe, widely available parts, cheaper 100 hour and annuals. The purchase price of the airplane is little factor when you consider what is required annualy to own one.
