    I've decided to fly out to Columbia tomorrow!

    I was going to take my gf to a jungle resort here in CR for our 1yr anniversary, but decided to goto a nice caribbean island instead

                                                                  When I'm not in Thailand, I try to be in Colombia. Where are you going? Hit me up if you have any questions. It's not as dangerous as everyone makes it out to be BUT do not travel by land from city to city and don't even think of doing a border crossing from Colombia to Panama on land.

                                                                  Bogota is a beautiful city but keep your guard up. Cartagena has an incredible old Spanish city and fort that is a must see. The beach there is lame but you can go to an island that is beautiful. Islas Rosario is the name... very nice. Cali you can skip. Medellin is cool and Barranquilla is nice.

                                                                  You will find tons of huslters there but no real danger unless you go looking for it. Most of the problems now happen on empty roads or in the jungles. Though you will be asked to have your bags searched going into some malls (in some cities) and such because they want to make sure you don't have a bomb in it. No joke.

                                                                  I'm not a party guy but my first night ever in Colombia I was at a club and had PILES of coke offered to me along with more weed that I knew existed. They LOVE to party.

                                                                  Anything and everything is possible in this country, just don't piss any one off and don't let the military police with the big ass Rambo guns frighten you, they are just on patrol doing their job. Enjoy your trip!!!
