Former lawyer, cop guilty of 24 bank robberies

NORMAL -- A former Indiana attorney and police officer pleaded guilty Friday to robbing 24 banks in 11 states, including Commerce Bank in Normal, the U.S. attorney's office in Springfield announced.
Clifton Bruce Davidson Jr., 41, of Holland, Mich., pleaded guilty to three counts of aggravated bank robbery, 21 counts of bank robbery, and one count of brandishing a firearm during a violent crime, said Rodger A. Heaton, U.S., attorney for the Central District of Illinois, in the statement.
