Hey chickie, if she is well behaved, take her to Crawdaddy's (yes, it's Cajun . Creole, but they have some items kids will like). It gives you a decent atmosphere, great food at a reasonable price and since they let you draw all over the table "clothes" and such she'll be occupied.

If there is a Rainforest Cafe in your area, you MUSt take her, lol. It is SUCH a cool place to eat. A little pricey for my family to go often, but the food is good and the atmosphere is amazing..next best thing to actually eating a good meal in a rainforest.Need Hosting? She's 8. She's not so small as to have to have a "child's" place to eat. Take her wherever you'd take a friend. Talk to her like a friend. Then after dinner ask if she'd like some ice cream. I think it can be a mistake trying to be a friend to your kids as opposed to a parent. She is only 8, maybe the friendship ploy should come around when she is older. Just my 2 cents, but each family has their own dynamics that work for them. When I was 1-15 I needed a Mother, not a friend...
