Depends on your approach to managing/growing it. If you wanna grow it fast and base that growth primarily on trading traffic, then thumb. If you wanna grow at a slower, but steadier rate, while optimizing for search engines and relying less on traded traffic, then text would be a much better choice. In terms of ROI, I think a thumb site would produce a quicker profit than a text site, while the latter would be more profitable in the long run.
