            The thing is, you can use the picker to create a path, turn it into a selection, and then ADD to the selection. it isn't "this or that"... and the selection tool does a much nicer job (especially in the hair area) that you cannot easily do witha brush.

            The example picture on this thread has a part of her hair missing (near her right shoulder) that shows hair on her shoulder that doesn't attach to her head, because it got cut off. With a picker tool and a little time, you could have kept that hair in the game and made it MUCH better.
