Interesting that its not a porn clip thats shown though. I have a copy of that vid on my memory card that was encoded by a dude on a message board last week. Lets see how your porn turns out. The mpeg4 sp format that the psp uses for its memory stick isnt the best thing in the world when all's said and done - you cant use very high resolution full screen for instance. (zooming doesnt count)

Redshoe, you're really the bomb. I think that using any one of 4 available free encoders, then using what is probably the pre-encoded irobot trailer thats been making the board rounds for a week is really impressive (thats assuming you've done any encoding at all) I've been encoding video for 2 months on the PSP, porn included and posting on GFY when you had no cards in your hand was a little silly.
Anyone that wants one of their videos (fuck, TWENTY of their videos) converted to psp format let me know and I'll do it for free. Quit acting all jedi redshoe, I know 12 year olds that do this shit.Comment

Oh and when it comes to "cracking the encoding sequence" I'm not sure what you think you're saying there, but what you "cracked" has been available on the web since about 4 months before the PSP was released.
The psp uses MPEG4 - SP or AVC video encoding with either AAC or PCM audio. you often need to forge the headers of the file to fool it into working if you try codec defaults. The file can be accompanied by a THM file (a 160x120 jpeg) that will show a screen of the vid when browsed on the pspComment

Knowing what an encoder is, and knowing HOW to use it, are 2 different things. Just because someone has photoshop, that doesn't make them a designer. I'm in this business to make money and make my clients money. I offer a service, and it's not cheap. If you want to encode and work for free, by all means go right ahead. I have a family to support and a mortgage to pay. As for the 12 year olds, I think it's awesome that they can start learning a vocational skill that early in life. I don't think it's legal for them to encode porn, so at least until they are 18 people here will need to hire a pro, or have you do it for free.

Man my only beef with you is coming out that you're doing something noone else can do. Nothing has been cracked. You found a great use for a existing tools out there and you want to offer it for money. This is how the biz works. I dig that no problem. My issue is you coming in like it's something that hasnt been happening for months.
Make your money and pay your mortgage. Feed your kids. I got a mortgage too and a kid to boot. I just don't feel its necessary to come in and offer my services like I'm the only one doing it - or that I know something that noone else knows.Comment

Congrats on having a kid and a mortgage and no need for money. If I could encode 20 films for my clients for free, I would do it to. I think it's good to give back to a business that's been very good to me so far.. It just hasn't been good enough for me to work for free, so from time to time I need to offer my services. When it comes to knowing things that others don't, you got me there. I don't know much, but I do know that when I need to eat, I post on GFY to offer my services and hope to get someone like you to banter with me so I can keep my thread up near the top.
As Tanker once told me, "It's all a numbers game, kid. The more people you get to your site the more sales you'll make." In this case, the more people you get to see your services, the more that will hire you.
