So she tells me today that a little boy in her girls class showed her his "pee pee" and they went to the teacher and the little boy said he didn't. Well after about 15 mins he admitted he did.
So I asked what she did about it....ofcoure she sad "Nothing" and I'm like WTF so his parents weren't told? She said that she thought it was the schools responsibility to do that. I'm thinking if I had a little girl and a boy did that I would be right over to his parents house. Wouldn't you? I just don't get her sometimes.
Man my G/F in NJ isn't right.

Hmm. I don't know if I would go over either. It would probably depend on if I knew the parent's already or were familiar with them through school activities, etc. You never know what kind of situation you're walking into and the parents might just get really pissy and do nothing anyhow since the school didn't feel the need to. I think the school is in the wrong here. They clearly should have contacted his parents and reprimanded him in some way so he knows that behavior is not ok.Comment

I have a daughter and if this had happened to her at 6 I think I would have been happy with the school informing the parents. The parents should be notified because they need to let him know it's inappropriate behaviour. But it's also pretty normal at that age. If this had happened to my daughter now that she's going into 7th grade I'd be having a fit.Comment

Thats too young to matter honestly.
I can remember when I was a little kid, maybe 8. And some other boys were throwing dirt bombs at a girl and one of them was sayig "hit her in the dick" lol.
The boy probably thought she had a pee pee like his.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

I mean come on it's not the best job in the world but when your kids go to school aren't you glad they have people working in the lunch room?Originally posted by TdogThis thread gets funnier as I read it. I would have asked the school to contact his parents. PERSONALLY, I would be more focused on telling my daughter that those are the types of situations you walk away from.
I remember stuff like this happening when I was a kid and quite frankly, my mom probably found out 20 years later.
I do my best to give my kids advanced knowledge of situations to avoid. So that means - if you know it's something inappropriate and you know 'mom' isn't going to approve, chances are mom won't and it's a case where you should get out of the situation fast & that means don't actively participate, don't become a bystander and you must tell me rightaway. So long as the girl knows to get out of the situation and to let a teacher/supervisor/parent/adult know - she'll be better prepared should she be presented with another situation.
The boy SHOULD also be told that although it's 'normal' (self discovery, the curiosity of what the opposite genders' genitals look like) it's not acceptable behaviour.Comment

Exactly. They're 6. Do you have children of your own? If so, you know the mentality of children at this age. I have a 6 year old. If he did something like that I wouldn't think twice about it. There is no need for her to go to the boy's parents. If you came to me all butt hurt about my son showing your daughter his penis (at age 6) I'd tell you to take the stick out of your ass and go fuck yourself.Originally posted by wojnothing really happened, no need to create drama over it...Comment

You obviously don't have children so shut the fuck up. Seriously. When you have children you can come back and talk about how fucked up it is for a 6 year old to show his penis. If he was older you might have a point but when a child is only 6 years old they are still very innocent and there is nothing to worry about in this case.Originally posted by TurboAngelWhy does that matter? Why don't you get over your paranoia and realize a 6 year old isn't going to abuse another 6 year old. No, your friend has no business telling another parent about this. Let the school handle it. That's their job. I'd be willing to bet the teacher mentioned it to the parents. My son's teachers tell us all about my son's day almost every time I pick him up.
Again, if you walked up to me and started telling me about this incident (rather than letting the school handle it) I'd tell you to fuck off (unless children were nearby of course) and let you know where to enroll in the nearest parenting class.
You truly are clueless on children.Comment

Ok if the kids were 12, then it's a HUGE deal. But at 6? They know maybe their own address and phone number. They dont even know that a pee pee is "bad". Thats why it *should* be no big deal IMHO.
What should they do, sue the parents or the school or both? Has it happened again? I'd say it's nothing because of the ages involved.
Remember when in Florida (I believe) the police ARRESTED a 6 or 8 year old girl for misbehaving?
Societies are getting really screwed up with blowing these things way out of proportion.43-922-863 Shut up and play your guitar.

TurboAngel - I wouldn't take it upon myself to search out his parents and tell them. I'd expect that the teacher/school would mention it & not because I think he's sexually abused or because he's a threat to others and this just because I, as a parent, would like to know if my son is instigating/bullying/pressuring anyone into doing anything.
Unless the mother is my best friend and I could talk to her about it, I wouldn't tell his parents directly. Also, since she also works at the school + she's the little girl's mother - she's in a conflict of interest in terms of her job/school/involvement.
Again, I'd be focusing on my kid more than theirs because my kid needs to be prepared with knowledge & quick thinking/decision making process with any situation that they are faced with.
**Also, I'll add that it's a VERY normal 'thing' for kids their age - kids are curious**Last edited by Trixxxia; 07-14-2006, 10:38 AM.Comment
