I would say as a whole compared to all other color types as a whole it is better , but that theory doesnt hold water on an individual basis. ( i.e. there are way better green types than purple types, ) but on the other hand i have never smoked "bad" purple weed , and i have smoked plenty of "bad" green weed so...

This is correct. Weed will turn purple in cold temperatures toward the end of it's cycle. Some strains are more prone to this than others.
It just happens most of those strains happen to be pretty good.
But just because it's purple doesn't make it better than any green bud. As a matter of fact it may be worse because it's a little overripe and the THC may have started to convert to CBD.
