you can make any weed purple by bringing down the temperature rapidly during the last 2 weeks of budding. Some varieties just have it all the time.
I would say as a whole compared to all other color types as a whole it is better , but that theory doesnt hold water on an individual basis. ( i.e. there are way better green types than purple types, ) but on the other hand i have never smoked "bad" purple weed , and i have smoked plenty of "bad" green weed so...
