Is $5,000 low enough for a bank to...

Is $5,000 low enough for a bank to offer it as a loan to someone who has no credit, without using a co-signer?

Not bad credit, just no credit.

Im trying to find away to get $5000 for an investment thats 100% going to return my investment, and 95% going to make me semi-well off.
I've tried asking friends, and offering $6000 repayment in 3 months, or $8000 in 6, but no one has the money

Any idea if a bank will do that?

Let me put it in way you might understand.

I myself have a great investment opportunity that's 100% going to return 10 times the amount of the investment you had in mind. So when you get your $5000, give it to me, without credit or collateral, and I'll offer you $10,000 a year from now.

              Deal?

In other words, that's what credit history is primarily used for, to determine your loan worthiness.
              Bad credit = bad loan.
              No credit = no loan.

An actual well thought out written business plan might help your case, but it's doubtful.

The investment is into an adult, pretty confidential on what and who it's with as both parties dont want it to be leaked.

I doubt writing a business plan is going to help once they know its adult. (the bank)

Damn, I guess I might miss out on this chance... pretty damn good money maker too, lol.

Go get a loan at one of them personal loan offices that jack up the interest rates to like 32.9% .. And for collateral you can use Car or anything last time i got a small loan i used my fuckin computer as collateral, 1100 at the time 2 years ago and they accepted it, they dont car as long as they can take the shit and sell it if you dont pay the loan ;)

Well shit, 32.9% is lower than my offering of $8000 in 6 months...

Any idea of an example you can give me on what you mean by Personal Loan offices?

Is it like one of those check cashing, or loan on your paycheck type places?

Umm not exactly a bank they are more of a independent loan officers, You might have one in your state if your in the USA, We have one here called Personal Finance LLC(I think its LLC) .. They give about anyone a loan but fuck if you was to pay the loan back by the payments you would be paying back double the loan amounts so for 100 your paying them 200 haha pretty shitty but they arent to anal on early payments, I always pay my loans off months in advance but make sure to read the small print on early payoff fines.

Thats just a general statement, its actually quite hard to get a credit card, even one with just a $500 limit.

Get a secured card ASAP, then once you've had it awhile, you won't have any problems scaring up a few grand when you need it.

Since you say that you already have a decent chunk of money, take that and go to the nearest casino - play 21 and with some effort, skill, and of course luck, you may very well get $5K quick - and of course know when to walk away with the winnings ... casinos don't mind paying off because they know most of the time the winner will be greedy and eventually lose it and then some.

If playing 21 is too much effort, then you could do what some college kid did awhile back, bet it all at once on Roulette.

As far as safer fundraising methods, MrC is right on with the finance places - if you have anything of decent value, you should easily be able to get a loan.

Lastly, depending on the time constraints, perhaps doing some work on the side is the answer ... even if you can't raise all $5K that way, it will help narrow the gap making it easier to get a loan for the remainder.
