I don't see the point.
I was at one a few weeks ago. They spent thousands and thousands on this thing, all for one day. They paid for dinner for family and friends, some who they didn't even like much, the dress cost aroung $8500, and then everything else.
Why not have a quiet wedding, spend the money on a honeymoon of a lifetime, and then once you get back, book a hall or something for everyone to have some drinks.
No way would i spend silly amounts the way they did just to satisfy everyone else...

We had a small wedding with 55 people there. Total cost was still $10,000 USD including the honeymoon we went on.
The part that will always suck is our pictures turned out like shit. The photographer didnt get paid for the work, but we still cant get that day back and the relatives that are now deceased.
WATCH THE PHOTOGRAPHER is my advice to you. They can single handedly fuck up everything you worked to perfect and you dont see the result until weeks later.Comment

i know someone whos gettin married & his girlfriends mom took out a 2nd mortagage on the house (for $40,000) just to pay for their wedding (which will end up in a divorce anyways lol)
i told her she was fuckin crazy.
i dont plan on spending more than $15k on my own wedding.
$10k for the wedding & reception here in Wisconsin
then we're flyin back to my hometown where all my family is in Pennsylvania, gonna invite everyone to a hall, play the video of the actual wedding, and then have a 2nd reception there for my whole family (around $2k). (cheaper than flying in my family or having them have to pay for plane tickets)
and spend the other $3k on a nice honeymoon somewhere.

I hate weddings and I hate the insane amount of money that people spend for one stupid day of their lives..and the funny thing is.. you wake up the next day and probably want to kick yourself in the ass for spending 10K on a fucking wedding..ugh.

tuxes=$180
booze=$300
backyard=fucking free baby!
two gold rings=$500
pastor=$100
reception=$150 for food..if they are still hungry they can fucking go out and eat.
