This thing keeps shutting off at random intervals. Out of nowhere it just looses all power. Maybe a power supply or something, anyone have any ideas.

My computer had been doing the same exact shit. Turned out to be a piece of fucking shit PNY video card. It would overheat and my computer would shut down. Then it wouldnt reboot for 10-15 minutes then everything would be fine for a few days. Finally the fucking card died, otherwise I'm not sure I would have ever figured out the problem.Comment

first get your cpu tested thats easy and the most likely i think.. unless its something you can see like a stopped fan or heat sink is clogged or loose. power fan stopped etchatisblack at yahoo.comComment

i've only had this happen one time where it was not a heat issue... it ended up being the power supply. when I took the connection to the mobo off, I saw that 2 pins were burnt up and it was obvious what was causing the power failures
