People matter far more than much else. Superfluous material stuff like the latest car etc has little to do with "actually" living.

worth - and probably simplified a lot. There are two types of people - takers and givers. A taker knows no bounds and appears to live for self-gratification 24 hours/day. There are "takers" everywhere - even in stuff like a commercial partnership/shareholding scenario. Kinda funny in a way - they are like small birds with their mouths open asking to be fed
Flip side is "givers" - there are some massive givers around, but most have been like that all their lives. Often they live fairly modest lifestyles, despite having millions or billions - or very little. Hard to say, but inclined to ally with the givers - not least because they generally are also "doer's" and appear to be more constructive.
