MAD MEN is so BORING

I wanted to check this series because it won a lot of prizes and got a lot of compliments, so I decided to watch a few episodes.

Man, it's so fucking BORING.. No action, too slow, nothing happens, NADA.

After 5 episodes, I gave up. How the fuck was this series so acclaimed?

I think I will try Boardwalk Empire now, with the actor of "FARGO" that has that evil pervert face.

Is this series "Boardwalk Empire" as boring as MAD MEN? or better?

I just watched all four seasons in the past few weeks. I thought it was great. I am blown away by the way life was back then - everything from how the kids were treated to how women were treated to the fact that they smoked all the time - and men always seemed to wear suits and ties and hats. I know it's TV, but from what I've read it's a very accurate portrayal of the period.

The problem is you don't understand subtext. There's so much going on in every episode, but you can only see the surface.

Declarations that you're bored by something as intelligent as Mad men is an inadvertent admission of stupidity. I'm sorry if this makes you realize you're not as smart as you always thought yourself to be. Don't lay awake at night thinking about it too much. There's lots of dumb programming out there for you to get monkey-like, shit throwing enjoyment from.

I love it when people think that because you don't like a stupid show or movie it's because you only enjoy mindless action. Mad Men sucks, No Country for Old Men really sucks, and Drive was a piece of shit.

Exactly, because you can't enjoy Mad Men, you are not as smart as the rest of us. Please. The show is pretty stupid. Not saying it isn't enjoyable, I'm sure some people find it very entertaining. But it's nothing deep or even remotely intelectual.

I like Mad Men. It's about life and culture in the 50-60s. A man and his troubles. It's a good show. It's not revolutionary. I cannot say that you have to be a genius to understand it. Some people like dramas, some do not.

TV and movies are meant for entertainment. I like watching shit get blown up. I also like interesting dialogue. The point is to be entertained. If you want to get smart, read a book or have your own adventures instead of watching them from a sofa.

Drive was the most disappointing movie of the year

Mad Men is nothing special, I couldn't believe it was from the creators of The Sopranos!

The plot is relatively boring, the main characters lack depth and I think the only character who is likable and has any real depth of character is Peggy.

Mind you when you've been enjoying one of the best shows ever made (Breaking Bad) it's hard to watch shows that aren't on the same level.
