Do you think there will be prosecutions and asset seizures in a manner similar to Megaupload in our industry?

This is true. They probably are going to smash the shit out of the content lockers first, but they hate adult and what better way to clean up the net than to take down Pornhub and Youporn etc.?

The government doesn't give a shit about porn. They go after the big fish who have dollars. How often do you see the DOJ going after the small fries and piss ants? Rare to never unless they are doing something extremely bad, or their are so many complaints they can't avoid it.

The DOJ is a for profit enterprise. They go after the big fish with money and/or headlines.

Common sense would say that. But didn't they go after Mansef for something related to money laundering or illegally operating a money changing service? Mansef wasn't that big back in those times either. Manwin is obviously now several times larger than Mansef ever was.

I read that supposedly the government has been investigating MegaUpload for several years and this move was a culmination of that investigation. <strokes chin>

YouTube is super cleaned up and has been for a while from what I've personally experienced. Most major companies and artists have their own channels, you can "monetize" your own content with google adwords, and furthermore...I had trouble when I posted my OWN ORIGINAL SONGS VIDEOS! I wrote the songs, shot the vids, etc. It was as original as content can be. And they made me jump through hoops to PROVE that I really wrote it and shot it.

If every current pirate site actually had a business model like YouTube currently has...we wouldn't have any problems.
